Ultimate Tag Warrior 3.1

Download Ultimate Tag Warrior 3.1

There’s a new version! I’ve made some changes to tag suggestions – tagyu suggestions work again, for reals; and I’ve gone backwards, and yet forwards, so you can now choose whether you want suggestions from tagyu, or the yahoo! term extraction API.

If you have been using simple tags, you can now do a mass import of your tags, from the Manage > Tags page. (I have a feeling that if you tinker with the start and end delimiters, you could probably get it to do an import of generic tags…but I haven’t done it myself (: )

So yeah (: Download here, Support forum here; let me know if you need a Wordpress 1.5 version! (I’ve had mostly Wordpress 2.0 downloads, so I’m inclined to wait for a request for a 1.5 version)

    hey Christine,
Is there a way I could hide a specific tag from showing up in the tag cloud? i.e. my name so I don’t look so egotistical? I want all my posts tagged with dydimustk for technorati reasons, but I don’t want to be be biggest tag on my tagcloud =D

    Thanks for the update!
I have a problem with mod_rewrite. Not sure what exactly wrong but looks like my .htaccess is not being updated by this plugin. .htaccess is chmoded and working fine withing the blog, but not the tags – I get Page Not Found.

One note – I have WP installed into its own folder while index is in the root. May be it makes differentce..

Any help would be appreciated :) Thanks!

I’ve been having some problems with the files … mainly the naming structure you’ve chosen to use. I know that many probably don’t have a problem here, but I use Dreamweaver and they (stupidly) put a limit on characters in file names. I’d seriously reconsider using such long names as “ultimate-tag-warrior-help-custom-formatting.html” when a simple, “utw-help-format.html” would be sufficient.

when i click on a tag say “Adventure” I get loads of results of posts that are not tagged with “Adventure” at all…

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! etc.

I have given UTW some of my lovin’ ever since finding it. By far my favorite plugin ever.

One question though…….. I would love to give it an even larger helping of some Seth-Lovin’ by being able to display a set number of tags but randomly ordered. Possible?

[...] At first I experimented with using categories as identifying tags and crossed my fingers letting the incoming feeds to create their own set of categories, easy as it sounds, it was the start of the jigsaw puzzle, majority of Pakistani bloggers used blogspot as their blogging host, and unfortunelty blogger does not enforce a category system (unlike Wordpress / Movable Type) so from Blogspot we then crossed our fingers and hoped that the blogger would be technologically aware and implement some sort of an external tagging system which we can use on Bloggers.pk…. that too was dream with little hope of turning into a reality. Taking matters into our own hands was the only solution and the idea of a community driven system to tag was our answer. It is now commonly referred to as FOLKSONOMY (mixture of FOLKS and TAXONOMY = people driven taxonomy). Locating the ideal plug-in to was difficult but were pleased to come across Ultimate Tag Warrior 3.1 plug-in which perfectly suited our requirements. [...]

Has anyone gotten the Movable-Type API for keywords to work with UTW? I would love to be able to include tags when I post via XML-RPC.

I really like using MarsEdit to post to my blog, but without being able to add tags I still have to log in and edit the post.

Just going crazy in here Christine…
Cant get it to work… All I get is this:

http://www.browserd.com/tag/filmes but if you look at http://www.browserd.com/2006/05/19/para-pergunta-inteligente/ you can see that it is tagged with the word “filmes” (it is in portuguese but easy to identify)…

    My .htaccess gos like:

    # BEGIN FAlbum

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^photos/?([^/]*)?/?([^/]*)?/?([^/]*)?/?([^/]*)?/?([^/]*)?/?([^/]*)?/?([^/]*)?/?([^/]*)?/?$ /wp-content/plugins/falbum/wp/album.php?$1=$2&$3=$4&$5=$6&$7=$8 [QSA,L]

    # END FAlbum
    Options -Indexes
    redirect 301 /cms/ http://www.browserd.com/
    # BEGIN UTW
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^tag/?(.*)/feed/(feed|rdf|rss|rss2|atom)/?$ /index.php?tag=$1&feed=$2 [QSA,L]
    RewriteRule ^tag/?(.*)/page/?(.*)/$ /index.php?tag=$1&paged=$2 [QSA,L]
    RewriteRule ^tag/?(.*)/$ /index.php?tag=$1 [QSA,L]
    RewriteRule ^tag/?(.*)/page/?(.*)$ /index.php?tag=$1&paged=$2 [QSA,L]
    RewriteRule ^tag/?(.*)$ /index.php?tag=$1 [QSA,L]
    # BEGIN WordPress

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

    # END WordPress

    Any idea Christine?
    Thanks

    Hi there again Christine.
I’ve managed (after uploading the plugin and the .htaccess file hundreds of times) to get it working using Nathan’s .htaccess file (http://nathan.studiodifferent.com/2006/04/04/wordpress-tagging/#more-20).
Now, Is there a way that I can get more than one post in the tag page? Meanning, everytime I click on a tag it takes me for the right place but the tag page only shows me the last post with that tag. All the others are acessible only trough the “previous entries” link.
    Any idea? Thanks
